Voir interview dans Myrmecological News Blog (9 décembre 2020) à propos de son article sur la gestion des déchets : "Myrmica rubra workers adapt their nest-cleaning behaviour to the pathogenicity of waste and the presence of brood. Waste with higher pathogenicity of the fungus Metarhizium brunneum is discarded faster than waster with lower pathogenicity. Interestingly, the presence of brood increased the hygienic response of workers."

Il étudie le comportement des fourmis Myrmica dans les zones de récolte infestées par des champignons pathogènes Metharizium. De manière inatendue, cela ne modife pas le foraging des ouvrières qui prennent le risque de se faire infecter (Periera et al 2021).
