Tapinoma ibericum

C'est une espèce qui fait partie du groupe T. nigerrimum s.l. (Seifert et al 2017)

Pour sa thèse, Julia Centanni a échantillonné avec un aspirateur plus de 900 sites dans la région de Montpellier. Les fourmis ont été identifiées avec des microsatellites. T. ibericum a été trouvée (dans 1 site ). Voir aussi l'interview dans Myrmecological News du 9 février 2022 avec de belles photos.

Le rôle de Tapinoma ibericum dans les plantations d'oliviers (Alvarez et al 2023). Cette fourmi n'est pas qu'une peste, elle est utile aussi dans les oliveraies (Alvarez et al 2023).
